Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American producer stage and screen actress, best well-known for her films as a character in Ray Undercover Brother and on the television series The Mentalist. She graduated with the B.A. from African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting from Tisch School of acting at New York University. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis, a writer and American actor active in the theatre in film, television, and theatre. Her stage debut was in the year 2000 before appearing in mainstream, independent, and TV series. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and was a part of the epic BET series The Book of Negroes for which she received not just praise from critics but also received a host of nominations and awards, including the Television Critics Choice Award nomination for the Best Actress in a Film. She made her professional acting debut in the role of Ariel in The Tempest in 1995. Her stage credits include the Broadway production that Joe Turner's Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. When it comes to film, she is most well-known for her roles in films such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. On television, her part in ABC's police drama High Incident is well known.
