Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is an American actor and singer. Bell is a Michigan native born and fostered by her parents, Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) as well as Tom Bell (a TV news director). She is the daughter of a Polish and her father German, English Irish and Scottish. Kristen developed a talent to perform on an early age on stage. Her audition was in 1992 and was offered the role of Raggedy Ann, and Andy. Bell's mother signed her up with an agency before her 13th birthday. She then appeared in television advertisements as well as newspaper advertisements. Now, Bell also begins classes in acting for herself. Bell had a minor role that was not credited to her in Polish Wedding (1998), in 1998. Bell was a student at Shrine Catholic High School, where she was a member of the musical and drama clubs. Bell was cast as Dorothy in the high-school production in The Wizard of Oz. Bell went to New York City for the Tisch School of the Arts to study musical theater after graduation. In 2001, Bell left university to portray the character of Becky in Tom Sawyer. Bell made her debut film credits in Pootie Tang at the beginning of 2001. Her scene, however, was trimmed and now her appearance only appears in the final credits. Bell played featured in the Broadway revival of The Crucible starring Liam Neeson as well as Angela Bettis.
